Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Located in Ras Al Khaimah, the UAE’s highest peak known as Jebel Jais now boasts a skating rink at 1,300 metres above sea level.
The 150-square-metre synthetic staking rink overlooks the Hajar mountain chain in Oman.
Open five days a week, including the weekend, the new skating rink receives both adult and children above three years old.
The new outdoor activity is one of the latest attractions uncovered by the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), which is constantly working to boost the emirate’s position as a destination for tourism and family-friendly adventure.

Tickets for a 30-minute entry cost AED 45 ($12) including rented skates. The rink is open Wednesdays to Sundays from 10 am until 5 pm.
Jebel Jais is known as being colder than the rest of the UAE, with temperatures often being around 10 degrees Celsius lower and to have dropped to as low as 2.7°C.
RAKTDA recently unveiled the world’s longest zipline and the Middle East’s first via ferrata.
